Everything you need to know about testing with Byolete — from ordering your kit to understanding your results.
About you & eligibility
Anyone aged 18+ who wants to optimise their health using data-led insights. Please note that you must currently be in the UK to collect and return your sample.
No. Our tests are not intended to diagnose or treat medical conditions. They provide personalised biomarker insights for informational and lifestyle optimisation purposes only. If you have concerns about a specific condition, please consult your GP or another qualified medical professional.
The test
Our tests use a finger-prick lancet, which may cause slight discomfort — but most people don't describe it as painful. The process takes just a few minutes.
It depends on the test. Each panel has its own pre-sample instructions — please refer to the information included with your specific test. These requirements are there to ensure the most accurate results possible.
Ideally, collect your sample in the morning as per your kit instructions, and post it back on the same day.
Timing tip: We strongly recommend posting before the last collection on a Thursday (typically 5pm) to avoid your sample sitting over a weekend before reaching the lab. Monday–Thursday mornings are ideal.
Ordering & delivery
You'll receive an order confirmation by email — check your junk folder if you don't see it. Your test kit will be dispatched to your delivery address, with full sample collection instructions included in the box.
Orders placed before 12pm Monday–Friday are usually delivered the following working day.
Please photograph the issue and email us at returns@byolete.co.uk. We'll reply with disposal instructions and arrange for a replacement kit to be sent out promptly.
Your results
Your results are reviewed by our clinical team — qualified prescribing pharmacists and lab-based doctors. You're not receiving a number with no context; you're getting a clinician-led interpretation.
We explain what each biomarker means, how your results compare to optimal ranges, and what you can do to improve them. This is an optimisation consultation — not a diagnostic or treatment consultation. For the latter, please speak with your GP or relevant medical provider.
Occasionally a sample is flagged as insufficient or incorrectly collected by the lab. If this happens, we'll contact you directly to explain the situation and advise on next steps. An invalid result typically requires a new sample to be submitted.
Privacy & data
Only our authorised clinical team and the lab partners involved in processing your sample. We take medical confidentiality seriously — all data is stored in encrypted, GDPR-compliant systems and is never sold or shared with third parties.
